Chinatown Photoshoot

It was my first time to be amongst pro photographers and to use manual mode in photo-shooting. And as continually blessed as I am, the photoshoot was in the temple I have been longing to take photos of. Every Sunday to and from church, I would pass by this marvelous-looking temple and I told myself that once I get a DSLR, this is really the place I'd like to take pictures of. So thanks talaga to Kuya Glen for bringing me to this group meeting and teaching me the basics in raw photography. :) My favorite pictures are here: http://iheartpinas.multiply.com/photos/album/11/Circles but am posting pics of the place to show how nice it is on the eyes.

Eat 'Till We Puke

indonesian, hk'nese, thai, vietnamese, burmese, singaporean & filipinas

Several of my colleagues left in 1 month so we had a couple of farewell dinners for them. All are in buffet restaurants so we had so much fun hoarding food, trying to finish all of them and hiding the leftovers.

Shout to the Lord

Sung in American Idol last Wednesday and Thursday. Was pleasantly surprised they sang it in the show and made me love AI more. =D Although, I attached here video of original version by Darlene Zschech as it has lyrics in it and features clips from The Passion of the Christ. :)

Dolly Parton in American Idol

Last Friday, Dolly Parton performed this song in American Idol. Am not really a fan of country music but Dolly's are the few country songs that I listen to. She is such a good songwriter and this song is another one of those that came from her heart. Was able to relate to the lyrics, was convicted, and was amazed that Dolly has been so honest about it. We do tend to feel so full of ourselves when good things happen to us. We praise ourselves too much thinking it was all our doing that made us achieve these good things in life. We forget that everything was willed by God and that if we enjoy blessings, that is because God CHOSE to give us that blessings. Even if you work yourself to death, if God does not want to bless you, you will still be stuck at a poor state. I'm glad this song has reminded me of my total dependency to God. I am really, totally useless without Him.

Lyrics:
I'm to the point where it don't add up
I can't say I've come this far with my guitar on pure dumb luck
That's not to say i know it all
'Cause everytime I get too high up on my horse I fall

'Cause I've got
Somethin' lifting me up
Somethin' holding me down
Somethin' to give me wings and
Somethin' to keep my feet on the ground
I've got all I need,
Jesus and gravity

But I'm as bad as anyone
Taking all these blessings in my life for granted one by one
When I start to thinkin' it's all me
Well somethin' comes along and knocks me right back on my knees

and I've got

Somethin' lifting me up
Somethin' holding me down
Somethin' to give me wings and
Somethin' to keep my feet on the ground
I've got all i need, Jesus and gravity

He's my friend
He's my light
He's my wings
He's my ?

and I've got
Somethin' lifting me up
Somethin' holding me down
Somethin' to give me wings and

Somethin' to keep my feet on the ground
I've got all I'm gonna need,
I got Jesus, I got Jesus, I got

Somethin' lifting me up
Somethin' holding me down
Somethin' to give me wings and
Somethin' to keep my feet on the ground
I've got all I'll ever need,
cause I got Jesus and gravity

Somethin' lifting me up
Somethin' holding me down
Somethin' to give me wings and
Somethin' to keep my feet on the ground
I've got all I'll need
cause I've got Jesus and gravity

Jesus, I've got Jesus, I've got Jesus
He's my everything
He lifts me up
He gives me wings
He gives me hope
and He gives me strength
and that's all I'll ever need

As long as He keeps lifting me up
He is my life
He is my God
He is my wings
He is my flight
Lift me, I've got Jesus, I've got Jesus
and that's all I need

Tagaytay Holy Week

Went to Tagaytay last Holy Friday with half of my mom's family. Half 'cos only her women siblings and their families were there. My titos (mom's brothers) and their families weren't able to join because this was a spur-of-the-moment trip. That morning lang nagyaya si Kuya Mike to go to Tagaytay. So we were half the bunch, missed my other cousins, but still managed to have a 100% fun. Really love this big family to bits!!!!

Was excited to use my DSLR for the first time also so have been snapping these pictures the whole day. =)
