North Parramatta, Sydney

Parramatta is nice, very commercial. But need to move again this Sunday 'cos it takes me 1&1/2hours travel to work everyday. Found Parramatta not far from Manila, though. Rubbish here and there, vandalism from walls to bus stops, and people not really following pedestrian traffic lights. Don't know why they even put that here 'cos general rule of thumb is to just cross when there's no car. Unlike Singapore that even if pedestrian crossing is 200m away, people would still walk to there just to cross to the other side. A lot of people here see Singapore as too strict, too many rules. Maybe I'm a person who's more into rules. For me, more rules & discipline = less worry. More rules mean not having to wait in the bus stop at 6am with a drunk, beer-bellied, middle-aged man with no shirt on (at 14 degrees nonetheless, haha).

Macquarie Park, Sydney

okay, been here for only 5 days. haven't gone around yet. just walking around macquarie park. once i have settled in to my new apartment, think that would be the time i'll take a tour around sydney. so these all are mostly just roads views. hahaha. there's really not much to see in this suburb except offices. at least the apartment where i'll be moving is more commercial daw... and i cannot believe the number of flies flying around! argh! hate it! haven't seen a fly since i moved to singapore so these lot of flies are really driving me nuts!

P&G ANZ Team's Send-Off

Top (L-R): Caroline, Ivy, YenSiew, Moi, Joey
2nd Row: Elizabeth, Angelia, Kailing

Was really touched by the gesture of my colleagues. Did not expect it since I thought I would just be going away temporarily so no need for any farewell or send-off. I really feel so blessed to have the sweetest and nicest colleagues here in Singapore. To think that when I started working here, I was worried of being discriminated or not have local friends due to other Filipinos' workplace horror stories. But this group has really impressed me on their sweetness and niceness and so much reaching out to me even when I was keeping to myself most of the time. Imagine having these ladies, mostly younger than me, giving me presents everytime they go to some place, and giving me pasalubong of food when they go out just for simple lunches kasi they would see something they'd know that I like. And of course, for this "farewell", they made sure in buying me a super super chocolate cake (cos they know i love chocolates)! And they all kept telling me I should make sure to come back and not like Australia so much. Hehe, was truly touched. God is really, really so good for giving me these people to enjoy my work with. =)

Now I hear Australia P&Gers are also super nice... Looking forward now to working with them for the next six months. =))
