Family Holiday Celebration

Our usual New Year's family gathering with my most loved people in my life! This family is the reason why I am always homesick and longing to be back in the Philippines. What I love about my big family is that no matter what happens, we have always stuck together. Kahit pa nagkakasigawan and nagkakamurahan yan (as they are the emotional and violent type), just give them a few weeks' space then they'd patch things together and all the hatred would be bygones. No one holds grudges against each other, despite the really grave offenses some might bring to others (that really are unthinkable already to other people). It's nice that we remain a strongly-intact family that sincerely loves & cares for each other. And since I was a kid, I've always been comforted to know that whatever happens, I have this family who will fight for me to death.

Someday, when I have my own children, I will definitely return to the Philippines so that my kids can grow up with my big family and enjoy growing up with their cousins and loving them as own siblings, and have a super happy childhood like I did.

Girls Night Out (16 Jan 09)

@Boat Quay. Maganda pala mag-dinner dito! =) I would usually have dinner nights once a month with my close friends from P&G and are ex-P&Gers. Would not be seeing them for the next 2 months that's why we took more pictures than usual.

Yavanna

Updated 19/01/09.
First pic of my niece, Yavanna. Sabi ni Mama, aside from the nose na nakuha nya sa nanay nya, kamukha ko daw nun baby ako! Hehe. Kaya lang it shattered my dad's dream of having all his descendants na matangos ang ilong. Haha, unang apo nya pa naman. And my mom said she has so much hair already and ang kapal like I had when I was born. Hahaha kay Ahia, ako un kamukha ng anak nya. =P

Disney Medley by Lea Salonga

So happy to find this medley, which I listen to and sing-along with every morning when I was in the Phils. I am a big fan of Lea Salonga since I was in gradeschool (result of Preciosa Soliven's brainwashing every flag ceremony, hehe). My dad is also a huge fan! He can rave endlessly about Lea and really thinks she's the perfect singer/daughter/lady. That was why he was extremely happy I studied in OBMCI-Greenhills, kasi school nga ni Lea, and also kept reminding me that Lea went to Ateneo when I was choosing my college university. Haha, memories. I now remember when I was in gradeschool, he would sing this made-up song of his about Bergamo 1 and Bergamo 2 (OB grade ranking, B3 being the lowest) as a reminder that he doesn't accept a B2 ranking, always need to be a B1 so I'd be like Lea. I guess if I was gifted with a singing voice, he would have really pushed me to go to theater and aspire to be on Broadway as well. Hahaha. Well, too bad I didn't get his family's talent of singing. I would have loved to have a good singing voice, too!

Anyway, back to the video, you should definitely hear her Hercules and Mulan renditions. I just totally, truly, absolutely love her version of "Go The Distance"!!!

Will now look for my other Lea favorites: The Journey, One Voice & On My Own. =)
